Stepping into Timanfaya National Park feels like leaving Earth behind. The ground beneath you literally glows with geothermal heat, radiating fire just inches under the surface. Surrounding you is a surreal, Martian landscape of twisted black lava and jagged volcanic peaks, stretching as far as the eye can see. To truly experience this untamed wilderness, we traded four wheels for four legs. Swaying to the rhythm of a camel ride through the ash fields, we felt the true power of Lanzarote’s volcanic heart. Welcome to Timanfaya, where the island’s fiery history is still very much alive.

Aqua Natura, Terra Natura, Magic Pirate Island resort and Benidorm – our review

For a September family holiday, we chose an all-inclusive stay at the new Magic Pirates Island Resort, located just 10km from Benidorm. This pirate-themed paradise features three incredible pools, including the Battleship Lagoon with its massive galleon and the Kraken’s Kid Port splash area. Our well-designed lodge offered two separate sleeping areas, perfect for family privacy. A major highlight of the all-inclusive package was the unlimited access to the adjacent Aqua Natura waterpark and Terra Natura animal park, providing endless entertainment right on our doorstep.
