In September 2021, Matthieu decided to spend a couples of days with his family in France. So Skye and myself decided to go to Manchester to visit our friends. It was the first time for Skye to go to a big city and to stay that much time in a car. To be honest, I was a bit scare to drive 3h by myself with him, as I knew that he hated car journey and was often sick. But everything went well and he was fine.

En septembre 2021, Matthieu est rentré quelques jours en France voir sa famille. J’en ai donc profité pour aller avec Skye voir nos amis à Manchester. C’était la première fois que Skye allait dans une grande ville et faisait autant de voiture. Je redoutais un peu les 3h de route seule avec lui car à l’époque il n’aimait pas du tout la voiture et avait tendance à être malade. Mais finalement il fut adorable.

I had decided to visit Arley Hall and Garden, after having done some searches online to find places near Manchester that accept dogs. I had seen as well that that weekend they had a food festival in the estate.

Après avoir fait quelques recherches sur internet pour trouver des endroits à visiter dans les alentours de Manchester qui acceptent les chiens, je décidais d’aller visiter Arley Hall et son jardin. J’avais également vu que ce weekend là, il y avait un food festival d’organisé dans le parc du manoir.

So on the Saturday morning, the three of us, my friend Ella, Skye and myself, went to discover this place. We started our visit by the garden that is composed of several areas of different shapes and sizes. The wall garden was full of multicoloured flowers and bushes. Skye was stopping every 30 secondes to smell every flowers.

C’est donc tout les trois, mon amie Ella, Skye et moi, que le samedi matin nous partîmes découvrir cet endroit. Nous commençâmes la visite par le jardin qui se compose de plusieurs sections de formes et de tailles diverses. Le jardin le long du mur en pierre rouge était remplit de fleurs et arbustes de toutes les couleurs. Skye s’arrêtait toutes les 30 secondes pour sentir chaque fleur.

After visiting the garden, we went in the direction of the hall and the food festival. However, it was very busy and decided to go for a walk in the little woodland ” The Grove”, on the left side of the hall. Then we finished this visite by stopping for a cup of tea and piece of cake in their tearoom.

Après avoir visité le jardin, nous partîmes en direction du manoir et du Food Festival. Vu qu’il y avait beaucoup de monde, nous décidâmes d’aller marcher dans la petite forêt “The Grove” qui se situe à gauche du manoir. Nous avons terminé notre visite par un petit détour par leur salon de thé pour un thé et un gâteau.

We all enjoyed this day out, especially Skye who was the star of the day with people frequently stopping us to cuddle him.

Nous avons tous apprécié cette journée, surtout Skye qui a reçu beaucoup de câlins et d’attention des autres visiteurs.
