For this second day in the Loch Lomond area of ​​Scotland, we decided to go up Beinn Dubh. This hike starts from the village of Luss on the edge of Loch Lomond. The trail is well signposted and easy to follow. The climb to the top of Beinn Dubh is quite difficult but once at the top we arrive on a vast circular plateau. The trail overlooks the valleys on both sides before descending to Luss.

Here are the key steps to do this hike:

• From the parking, go towards the primary school then take the bridge across the A82. Just after the house take the path on the right towards Beinn Dubh. Continue straight on this path to the summit.
• At Beinn Dubh, continue straight towards Chur nah Eanachan. Then continue on the path down to the road. (The circular trail follows the top of both peaks before descending).
• Continue straight on the road for a long time before finding the bridge and the parking.

After this hike, we went to swim in Loch Lomond where all the locals had gathered on this sunny Sunday. The car park was totally full as well as the banks of Loch Lomond with families enjoying the good weather. We ended the day by eating at Castle & Creel in Helensburgh where we tasted Scottish oysters and mussels.

Pour ce deuxième jour dans la région de Loch Lomond en Ecosse, nous avons décidé d’aller en haut de Beinn Dubh. Cette randonnée part du village de Luss en bordure du Loch Lomond. Le sentier est bien indiqué et facile à suivre. La montée jusqu’au sommet de Beinn Dubh est assez difficile mais une fois en haut nous arrivons sur un vaste plateau circulaire. Le sentier surplombe les vallées des deux côtés avant de redescendre vers Luss.

Voici les étapes clés pour faire cette randonnée:

• Depuis le parking, aller en direction de l’école primaire puis prendre le pont qui traverser la A82. Juste après la maison prendre le sentier sur la droite en direction de Beinn Dubh. Continuer toujours tout droit sur ce sentier jusqu’au sommet.
• Au niveau de Beinn Dubh, continuer tout droit en direction de Coire nah Eanachan. Puis continuer sur le sentier qui redescend vers la route. (Le sentier circulaire suit le haut des deux sommets avant de redescendre).
• Continuer tout droit sur la route pendant un long moment avant de retrouver le pont du départ et le parking.

Après cette randonnée, nous avons fait une pause baignade dans Loch Lomond où tous les locaux s’étaient réunis en ce dimanche ensoleillé. Le parking était totalement plein ainsi que les berges de Loch Lomond avec des familles qui profitaient du beau temps. Nous finîmes la journée par aller manger au Castle & Creel à Helensburgh où nous avons pu gouter les huitres et moules Écossaises.
