Visit of Mount Grace Priory, Yorkshire, England

Read about our discovery of the Yorkshire coast here.

Instead we decided to visit Mount Grace Priory Abbey. This former abbey belongs to the National Trust and is maintained by the English Heritage (same principle than the National Trust). It is one of the only Carthusian abbeys that has survived and that it is possible to visit in England. Each monk had a small house and garden that adjoined another monk’s. The houses were all arranged around a central square where monks could meet and pray. The monks had a strict regime, which contained only the vegetables they grew in their garden.

Find all the information to visit Mount Grace Priory on their website.
