Mid-september the weather was terrible so a Sunday morning with my neighbour we decided to bring the kids to the Maryport Aquarium. We had never been before so it was the occasion to visit this little place. I also had some discount with My Cumbria card.

Mi-septembre le temps était terrible du coup un dimanche matin avec ma voisine nous avons décidé d’amener les enfants visiter l’aquarium de Maryport. Nous n’avions jamais visité cet aquarium donc c’était l’occasion parfaite. J’avais aussi des réductions avec ma carte My Cumbria.

Situated on Maryport harbour this little aquarium which contains a cafe is the perfect place to spend a few hours during a rainy day. Additionally, there is an outdoor crazy golf for the sunny days.

Situé sur le port de Maryport, ce petit aquarium qui contient un café est un endroit parfait pour passer quelques heures lors d’une journée pluvieuse. Il y a également un mini-golf dehors pour des journées plus ensoleillées.

The aquarium contains several small rooms that present different types of fishes from carps, trouts and gudgeons to jelly fish, sharks and rays. They even have a little fish nursery and an educational area where children can play. It is a lovely little place for children to discover more about fishes. Marcus definitely enjoyed his time.

L’aquarium est composé de plusieurs petites pièces qui présentent différent types de poissons comme des carpes, truites, goujons et même des méduses, petits requins et raies. Il y a une pièce avec des bébés poissons et un endroit pour que les enfants puissent jouer. C’est un endroit qui bien pour faire découvrir les poissons aux enfants. Marcus a adoré en tout cas.

  10. I took my boys here last easter when we were in the area. It’s a great little place, especially for my youngest who loves fish! We even had a go on the crazy golf, despite it being cold and blustery 😅. I’m glad you guys had a lovely time.

  12. I love visiting small aquariums like these as I actually find this a huge blessing, especially when I am heading out by myself and need to keep an eye on our two girls! I am a huge fan of any day out which allows my children to run around on their own without having to worry too much about all of the running off!
