This walk gently begins following the Cumbrian Way Trail. The climb is moderate and the trail quite wide and well maintained. There are wonderful views of Little Skiddaw from it. Then the path climbs quite hard towards Lonscales Peak. The climb to the summit is quite demanding especially in rainy and windy weather. There is also a sidewalk that can be quite difficult for people who do not like the void. The end of the walk reveals Keswick and Derwent water. The path down is a little bit rocky but very wide. All in all, this hike is mostly easy with some parts a little harder. A very beautiful and unknown hike.

Here are the key steps to do this walk:

  • From the car park take the path on the left towards Little Skiddaw, then turn right onto the trail that runs along the base of the peaks. Continue on this trail for a long time.
  • Once arrived at a long wall perpendicular to the path (on the other side of the wall you can see the youth hostel Skiddaw House) take the path that goes up and along this wall. It is from this moment that the hike becomes harder. Follow this trail to the top of Lonscales Peak.
  • Once at the top of Lonscales Peak follow the path that goes to Lonscales fell. Then leave towards Little Skiddaw before taking the path on the left which goes down again. Follow this path to the car.
