Beautiful circular walk to discover Torside reservoir and the beauty of the Peak District National Park.

Très belle randonnée pour découvrir le réservoir de Torside et la beauté du parc national du Peak District.

This hike begins nicely by following for a while the reservoir. It is only after 7 km that the path begins to climb more and more to the top. Once up the trail is practically flat for a good kilometre then it goes down through fields to the parking. This hike is easily accessible to beginners and families.

Cette randonnée commence gentiment en suivant pendant un bon moment le lac et le barrage. Ce n’est qu’au bout de 7 km que le chemin commence à monter de plus en plus jusqu’au sommet. Une fois en haut le sentier est pratiquement plat pendant un bon kilomètre puis il redescend à travers champs jusqu’au parking. Cette randonnée est facilement accessible aux débutants et familles.

From the top of the summit you will have a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside. There are not many people doing this hike, which is very relaxing.

Depuis le haut du sommet vous aurez une magnifique vue sur la campagne environnante. Il n’y a pas beaucoup de personnes faisant cette randonnée ce qui permet de bien se ressourcer.

Here are the steps to do this hike:

Voici les étapes pour réaliser cette randonnée:

• From the parking, cross the road and take the trail practically opposite the parking, which goes down to the lake and goes to the left. Continue on this road until reaching a bridge. Cross the bridge, the wood and continue straight up a road;
• Cross the road and take the trail that goes left and then right in direction of Torside reservoir / Torside car park. Follow this road until arriving again on the road. Cross and follow the path that goes down towards the dam (Torside Dam). Cross the dam;
• Once on the other side of the dam take the path on the left and follow it. You will go along Rhodeswood Reservoir until the next dam. Arriving at the second dam take the path to the right, which goes up through the woods and up to the road;
• Cross the road and take the trail in front of you, which goes up to the summit. Follow this path to the top. Once you reach a ladder above the grating. Cross it and take the path a little right in front of you;
• Continue on the path for a while. You will go along the edge of the peak. Then take the path down to the parking.

• Depuis le parking, traverser la nationale et prendre le sentier pratiquement en face du parking qui descend vers le lac et va vers la gauche. Continuer sur ce chemin jusqu’à arriver à un pont. Traverser le pont, la bois et continuer tout droit jusqu’à une route.
• Traverser la route et prendre le sentier qui va à gauche puis à droite en direction de Torside reservoir / Torside car park. Suivre sur cette route jusqu’à arriver à nouveau sur la route. Traversez et suivez le chemin qui va vers le bas en direction du barrage (Torside Dam). Traversez le barrage.
• Une fois de l’autre côté du barrage prendre le sentier sur la gauche et le suivre. Vous allez longer Rhodeswood Reservoir jusqu’au prochain barrage. Arrivé au deuxième barrage prendre le chemin vers la droite qui monte à travers le bois et jusqu’à la route.
• Traverser la route et prendre le chemin en face qui monte vers le sommet. Suivre ce chemin jusqu’en haut. Une fois arrivée vers une échelle au dessus du grillage. Traversez et prenez le sentier un peu en face à droite.
• Continuer sur le chemin pendant un moment. Vous allez longer la bordure du pic. Puis prendre le chemin qui descend jusqu’au parking.
