Visit of Crarae Garden, Scotland

The last place we visited during our vacation in Scotland was the Crarae Garden. This garden is owned by the National Trust Scotland but as we are members of the National Trust England we were able to visit it free of charge.

Created in 1912 Crarae garden offers in addition to a magnificent view on the Loch Fyne an incredible collection of plants, flowers and trees representing the Himalayan ecosystem.

Find all the information to visit Crarae garden here.

There are different paths to explore that allow you to discover the garden from several angles of view. We chose the longest one which was about 1 hour and which allowed us to see the entire garden.

Dense vegetation, majestic trees and waterfalls make this forest a treasure. The bottom of the garden is composed of flowerbeds and plants where it is possible to picnic.

Overall we liked this garden. We visited it before returning to Manchester. We recommend you go for half a day before or after the visit of Inveraray.

Do you know this garden?

  1. Firstly, I read this post in French – it’s been a while since I’ve read anything French, and save for the odd word, I think I managed the translation in my head pretty well 👍🏻 Second, what a beautiful garden! I’ve never heard of this before now, but if I’m ever up at Loch Fynwy I’d love to visit x

    1. Oh oui il faut vraiment que tu ailles en Ecosse c’est magnifique comme pays. Je dirais même que je préfère l’Ecosse à l’Angleterre (du moins le nord de l’Angleterre).

  2. What a beautiful place. I’ve not visited a national trust place in awhile I think I need to plan a day out. I’d definitely love to visit that garden I’ve never been to Scotland though.
