We went to Biddulph Grange Garden when my mother visited us last September. Because I know she loves flowers, I thought that visiting this English garden by a sunny day would please her.

Nous sommes allés visiter Biddulph Grange Garden lorsque ma mère est venue nous voir en septembre dernier. Vu que je sais qu’elle aime les fleurs, je me suis dis que visiter ce jardin anglais sous un beau soleil ne pourrait que lui plaire.

Biddulph Grange Garden is located in the town of Biddulph, which is about 1 hour drive from Manchester to Peak District. Like all National Trust properties, you will need to pay the entrance fee if you are not a member. The visit of the garden lasts around 2 hours and you will find a small shop to buy the National Trust’s products as well as a cafe to eat on site.

Biddulph grange garden se situe dans la ville de Biddulph qui est à environ 1h en voiture de Manchester en direction de Peak District. Comme toutes les propriétés du National Trust, il vous faudra payer l’entrée si vous n’êtes pas membres. La visite du jardin dure environ 2h et vous trouverez sur place un petit magasin pour acheter les produits du National Trust ainsi qu’un café pour vous restaurer.

This garden was built by James Bateman, who moved into the property in 1842. James Bateman was a plant collector and employed plant hunters to send him the best specimens from around the world. He lived in the property for 30 years before moving to London and leaving it to his son who decided to sell it in 1872.

Ce jardin fut construit par James Bateman qui emménagea dans la propriété en 1842. James Bateman était un collectionneur de plantes et employa des chasseurs de plantes pour lui envoyer les meilleurs spécimens du monde entier. Il vécu dans la propriété pendant 30 ans avant de déménager sur Londres et de la laisser à son fils qui décida de la vendre en 1872.

Then came the turn of the Heath family to live for 50 years in this property before to sell it in 1922. Biddulph Grange Garden passed through several hands and was even a hospital for a few years. It is now part of the National Trust, which ensures its protection and maintenance.

Vint ensuite le tour de la famille Heath de vivre pendant 50 ans dans cette propriété pour la vendre à nouveau en 1922. Biddulph grange garden passa entre plusieurs main et fut même pendant quelques années un hôpital. Il fait maintenant partie du National Trust qui veille à sa protection et son entretien.

The garden is divided into several parts, which are: “The Mosaic Parterre”, “The Dalia walk”, “the tunnel in Egypt”, “the lime avenue”, “China” and “Verbena parterre”. Each part of the garden makes you travel in a new country thanks to its vegetation and its decoration.

Le jardin est divisé en plusieurs partie qui sont : « The Mosaic Parterre », « The Dalia walk », « the tunnel in Egypt », « the lime avenue », « China » et « Verbena parterre ». Chaque partie du jardin vous fait voyager dans un nouveau pays grâce à sa végétation et sa décoration.

This garden is really beautiful; it is best to go there when the sun is out and when the flowers are in bloom. It is a pleasant place to visit or just to go for admiring the plants / flowers and relax. I think I don’t need to give more details about this amazing garden the pictures speak for themself.

Ce jardin est vraiment magnifique, il est préférable d’y aller par beau temps et quand les fleurs sont en fleur. C’est un endroit agréable à visiter ou tout simplement pour aller admirer les plantes/fleurs et se relaxer. Je pense que je n’ai pas besoin de vous détailler ce beau jardin, les photos parlent d’elle même.
