Quarry Bank Mill, located close to Manchester’s airport, is an old mill opened to the public. Created in 1783 by Samuel Greg, Quarry Bank Mill worked until 1959 before being given to the National Trust for protection.

The visitor will be transported by the magic of this place filled with history. He could stroll through the beautiful garden and relax while watching the colourful flowers in the shade of majestic trees. He will have the opportunity to visit the Mill, where he will discover the ancient looms and learn the history of this plant and the cotton trade in England. In addition, he will be delighted to see where the two English TV series “The Mill” by James Hawes, (2013) and “Peaky Blinders” Katie Swinden, (2013) were recorded. He will end his visit with the apprentice house, which tells the life of children working in the factory. To conclude this beautiful day, visitors will be offered the possibility to eat in the tearoom of the property.

Le visiteur sera transporté par la magie du lieu remplit d’histoire. Il pourra flâner dans le splendide jardin et se relaxer en contemplant les fleurs multicolores à l’ombre des arbres majestueux. Il aura la possibilité de faire le tour de la filature cotonnière (the Mill) où il découvrira les anciens métiers à tisser et apprendra l’histoire de cette usine et du commerce du coton en Angleterre. De plus, il sera enchanté de voir les lieux de tournages des deux séries anglaises : “The Mill” de James Hawes, 2013 et “Peaky Blinders” de Katie Swinden, 2013. Il finira sa visite par la maison des apprentis (the apprentice house) qui raconte la vie des enfants travaillant à l’usine. Pour conclure cette belle journée, le visiteur se verra offrir la possibilité de se restaurer dans le salon de thé de la propriété.
