Looking for the perfect Baltic city break? Our journey to Tallinn, Estonia, began back in 2011 with a unique opportunity. While Matthieu was completing an Erasmus year in Finland, we took the short trip across the Gulf of Finland to explore the Estonian capital. We spent a memorable weekend immersed in the cobblestone streets and medieval charm of Tallinn’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site that feels like stepping back in time.
As the northernmost of the Baltic states, Estonia is a fascinating blend of Nordic influence and Hanseatic history. While our first visit focused on the historic heart of the capital, we fell in love with the atmosphere and have been dreaming of returning to see more of this incredible country’s forests, islands, and modern culture. Whether you are a student on a budget or a couple looking for a romantic getaway in Tallinn, we hope our experience inspires your next Estonian adventure!
